BioTools together with Ghent University and the University of Antwerp are pleased to announce The formation of The European Centre for Chirality (EC2). EC2 will have its main function based in Belgium and has an ambition to become the European Centre of Excellence in the analysis of chiral compounds.
The EC2 is a unique blend of analytical services for Vibrational Optical Activity (VOA) including both Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD) and Raman Optical Activity (ROA). The primary mission of the EC2 is analysis of chiral molecules and determination of their absolute configuration. Our services cover experimental measurements, quantum chemical computations, as well as organizations of workshops, general consulting and much more.
EC2 is a formal alliance between BioTools, the world leader in the VOA scientific instrumentation, and the Universities of Antwerp and Ghent with sponsorship from Gaussian Inc. Top experts in VOA Prof Patrick Bultinck (Ghent University) and Prof Wouter Herrebout (University of Antwerp) will be directly involved with the functioning of the EC2 with additional scientific support being delivered through the team of BioTools including Prof Larry Nafie and Dr Rina Dukor.
To mark the formation and launch of this unique Centre of Excellence we invite you to attend the GRAND OPENING of EC2 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium on Thursday 2nd December 2010.
We will be presenting a strong scientific program with highly acclaimed speakers covering a number of topics from both Academia and Industry. You will also have the opportunity to learn about our instruments and services, and meet the people involved.
If you can join us to celebrate the European Centre for Chirality Grand Opening please fill in the Registration Form on this site no later than Friday 22nd October 2010.
We will provide you with all the necessary information including local accommodation options, local area of interest, and travel information. Please reply promptly since invitations will be on a first come first serve basis and places will be limited.
